A take on the famous Death & Co. “Vampire Blues” cocktail using rum or bourbon distilled in Vermont’s Mad River Valley. The use of local pumpkin butter from Sidehill Farm puts this drink over the top! Mad River Distillers whiskey and rum is distilled from non-GMO local grains and fair-trade demerara sugar and aged in new American oak barrels.

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz. Mad River Maple Cask Rum or Bourbon Whiskey
  • ½ oz. cream sherry (Lustau Solera Sherry)
  • ½ oz. lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Sidehill Farm Maple Pumpkin Butter
  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters

Instructions

Shake all ingredients over ice, strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass or straight up into a coupe. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and orange peel.
