This simple jam is taken up a notch with protein, healthy fat, and fiber (aka satiety!) from the chia seeds and a bit of carbohydrate from the maple and berries. Have it on a piece of toast, stir it into yogurt, or add a spoonful to take your oatmeal to the next level.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 8 ounces
  • 10-ounce bag frozen raspberries (or any frozen berry)
  • 2 tablespoons Vermont pure maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons chia seeds

Preparation

In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat frozen berries, maple syrup, and 2 tablespoons water until berries are soft and beginning to break down. Remove from the heat and add chia seeds. Stir until combined and let sit for at least 10 minutes so the chia can absorb the liquid. Add 2 to 4 tablespoons more water to reach desired consistency, if needed. Transfer into a glass container with a lid. This jam can be eaten hot or cold and will last in the fridge for 7 to 10 days.
