Sunshine Valley Organic Berry Farm - Rochester
A CSA berry share is available at Sunshine Valley, along with a unique “berry-barter” system where in exchange for help picking blueberries for the farm stand, you can keep a portion of your day’s harvest.
Rob Meadows and Patricia Rydle purchased the farm in 2007 from Ron and Leslie Blair who established it in 1996. Rob and Patricia nurture four acres of blueberries (that’s a whopping 2,500 bushes!) and three acres of summer and fall raspberries. PYO begins around July 4 with summer raspberries that last approximately three weeks followed directly by blueberries that ripen around July 20 and run for about a month. Fall raspberries are ready to pick around Labor Day and hang in until the first killing frost, generally in mid-October.
A CSA berry share is available, along with a unique “berry-barter” system where in exchange for help picking blueberries for the farm stand, you can keep a portion of your day’s harvest. Or you can pick berries for pay. The farm stand offers raw honey, maple syrup, and low-sugar jam made with the farm’s berries.
Sunshine Valley Organic Berry farm is conveniently located just off scenic Route 100 in Rochester.
